Saturday, September 25th is the “STEPS 7th Annual Duck Day!” They will host a 5k and a 1-mile Fun Run/Walk at Ben Geren Park. Check-in for the event will be gin at 7:00am and the race will kickoff at 8:00am. If you register for the 5k event before September 11th, you will be guaranteed a event t-shirt and a goodie bag for the early fee of $25. After September 11th, the registration fee will be bumped up to $30. The 5k and the 1-mile Fun Run/Walk is free for children under the age of 5. The 1-mile Fun Run/Walk is $15.

Proceeds from the event will support a variety of programs at STEPS Family Resource Center, a 501c3 nonprofit organization that serves children and families in the Fort Smith and surrounding communities. STEPS is dedicated to building stronger families in our community by offering a variety of family-strengthening services. We provide supervised visitation services to non-custodial parents and offer visitation rooms to families that are involved in the child welfare system (Department of Child and Family Services). STEPS offers Mental Health Counseling to individuals, children, and families that might be struggling and need a little support and help through difficult times. STEPS also serves as a liaison between the individual/family and the community by referring clients to resources, agencies and organizations. We also offer court-approved parenting and anger management classes. STEPS is passionate about ALL Families and we want to do our part to help strengthen and support those families.
